Priests are a very popular class choice in the world of Warcraft. They are the primary healing class in the game, and do it extremely well. There are two main talent builds for priests that are extremely popular, and make up most of the talent builds for priest population.
Before we go any further into the builds, we’ll cover a couple of the basics in the article below, so you’ll know what we are talking about, without having to scratch your head!
The first thing we want to cover is the 3 talent trees for priests.
The Three trees are:-
*Shadow
*Healing
* Discipline
The purpose of the shadow tree is to expand your shadow abilities, which are there to cause damage, the opposite of what you’d expect a priest to do!
The Healing tree is to boost all your healing based abilities, which obviously is to help you heal yourself and group/raid members.
The Discipline tree, is a little broad, but it covers most of your buff spells, and increasing various parts of your priests abilities and skills, like one of the skills in the discipline talent tree, allows a priest to regenerate mana while in combat.
When we are talking about talent tree setup’s below, you’ll see numbers like 45/0/34, What these are, are points spent in each talent tree for that build, the tree’s in order are Discipline/Holy/Shadow.
This is common pratice when talking about talent tree builds in the world of Warcraft. If you know what the talent tree’s are for that class, you can get an overview of how someone has boosted their character with talents.
Healing Priest Talent Builds
Well the first build for a priest we’ll talk about is the healing build. The primary purpose of this build is to increase the amount of healing you can do, and when you set it up correctly, you can increase it by large amounts very easily.
The first talent Build we’ll cover is the Full healing, the talent tree spend is 7/64/0
This build is fully gear for maximum healing power, The points in the Discipline tree are spent the following way:
Twin Disciplines (5/5), this increases heal and damage amounts by 5% for the priest
Silent Resolve (2/3) , This reduces threat for your character, meaning they’ll be less likey to take damage.
The Following is the Talent Point Spend in the Holy Tree
* healing Focus 2/2
* Improved Renew 3/3
*Holy Specialization 5/5
* Devin Fury 5/5
* Desperate Pray 1/1
* Inspiration 3/3
* Holy Reach 2/2
* Improved healing 3/3
* Healing Prayers 2/2
*Spirit of Redemption 1/1
* Spiritual Guidance 5/5
* Surge of Light 2/2
* Spiritual Healing 5/5
* Holy Concentration 3/3
* lightwell 1/1
* Serendipity 5/5
* Body and Soul 2/2
* Empowered healing 3/5
*Empowered Renew 1/1
* Circle of Healing 1/1
* Test of Faith 3/3
* Divine Providence 5/5
As you can see this is a very healing based talent build. As you level up you should first go for the Discipline tree, and spent your first 7 points in that, and then build the holy tree until your level 80.
We have already covered alot about the holy tree in this post, we’ll make a part2 in the coming days, and cover the shadow build for you as well. Until then you can check out out wow quest helper addon page, it is a great addon that even comes with complete talent builds for each class, even the priest. It’s the best talent guide out there, and you’d be crazy not to get it. This priest Talent guide is just the start, and several more will come soon.
