Word Of Warcraft Hunter Pet Talents

Since WoTLK, pets have been given their own dedicated talent trees. But what you’ll find is that their talents are based on the pet family they are from. So you’ll only ever have access to one talent tree per pet, but it’ll make them extremely dangerous once you’ve maxed it out. This is a follow on from our hunter talent builds post from last week.

The Three Talent Tree’s are Cunning, Tenacity and Ferocity. These aren’t the same as the hunter talent trees. They are basically kill, mane and destroy. They just go about it different ways.

The Ferocity Tree is based around pure dps, and the Carrior birds, cars, Devilsaur, Hyena, Moth, raptor, tallstider and wolf pet families have access to it. This entire tree is dedicated to making your pet a well oiled killing machine.

Hunter pet TalentsThe Tenacity tree is based around tanking abilities. The pet families that have access to it are the bear, Boar, Crab, Crocolisk, Gorilla, Scorpid, Turtle, Warp Stalker and Worm. This tree is to help your pet to be able to tank, and keep aggro alot better, so you and your group can get on with killing the monsters instead of running from them. The pets that are in this tree are generally used for solo hunters, or small groups, it allows you to stay at ranged and mow down anything that looks at you funny.

The final Tree is Cunning, It’s a Utility Tree, and the pets that have access to it are the bar, Bird of prey, Chimera, Dragonhawk, Nether Ray, Ravager, Serpent, Silithid, Spider Sporebat and Wind Serpent. This Tree sits in the middle of the other trees. It’s not really dps, and it’s not really Tanking, but it can do a little bit of both, it’s a little more of a all around tree that is a little flexible.

At the end of the day, every Hunter in the world of Warcraft should have at least one pet in their stables for each talent tree, been able to swap in and out your pets, and allow your pet’s abilities to what you are doing will be alot more flexible, and viable in the long term then just have one pet one.
